Gloria Dei Co-Founder Dies

Following a long series of illnesses, Gloria Dei co-founder Dr. Robert Cade died on November 27, 2007. A long-time professor of medicine at the University of Florida, Cade is best known as the inventor of Gatorade.

A lifelong Lutheran, Cade used Gatorade royalties to fund many charitable causes. Cade, his wife Mary, and their children, established Gloria Dei to formalize and continue their philanthropic activities and giving.

Bob will be greatly missed. His kindness, humor, generosity, and warmth founded Gloria Dei, and they will continue to inspire its continuing mission.
